UD Student Pictures Found on Porn Website

Upper Dublin Middle School and High School students pictures have been found on a porn website.

Upper Dublin middle and high school student's pictures have been reported on pornographic websites, according to ABC Phliadelphia. "A parent told Upper Dublin police that innocent photos posted on Facebook of eight to ten teenage girls who are friends have been copied without authorization, in effect hijacked, and have ended up on a commercial website called Jailbait.com." Several of the girls are reported to be students at Sandy Run Middle School. However, students from other schools may also be involved. The investigation into this claim is just beginning. Upper Dublin Middle School Teacher Harassed by Student

Sandy Run Middle School teacher says a threatening e-mail was sent to his wife.

A Sandy Run Middle School teacher has become the victim of ongoing harassment from at least one anonymous student, according to a Whitemarsh Police report. The man, who works at the middle school but lives in the Fort Washington section of Whitemarsh Township, reported the harassment to Whitemarsh Police on May 22nd. In a report from that department, the teacher says that he had been receiving various messages on an Upper Dublin website, with some saying that he "should kill himself." According to the report, the teacher originally chalked up the messages to kids being kids, until his wife also received an e-mail on her personal account on May 21st. Superintendent, Principal Say Middle School is Safe

To an auditorium full of parents on Tuesday night, Superintendent Michael Pladus and Sandy Run Middle School Principal Dr. Denise Falconi said the school is a safe place for kids to learn.

To a standing room only crowd of parents, Superintendent Michael Pladus, Sandy Run Middle School Principal Dr. Denise Falconi, and representatives from St. Mary’s met Tuesday night to discuss the recent incidents at the middle school. The Students Pladus told parents that students from St. Mary’s have been attending Upper Dublin schools for many years. Currently, St. Mary’s has 90 students in their care, and approximately 30 of those students attend classes at Upper Dublin schools. There are 22 students at the high school and between 8 and 13 at the middle school. My heart goes out to these children as they did not ask to be subject to abuse however, i dont want to pay for them, their testing, separate transportation, newly hired transition person, etc. We can't even get proper advNced education for our children and we pay the huge taxes in upper dublin. UDPD Speaks on Middle School Incidents

With two back-to-back middle school incidents, Upper Dublin Police Detective Mike Scarpato, speaks with Patch.

After two incidents at Sandy Run Middle School involving students from St. Mary’s Villa, parents have been concerned about the students and the school. Upper Dublin Police Detective Mike Scarpato, told Patch that in both incidents, one during lunch on Thursday and one during the early morning on Friday, did not involve weapons and the school was never on lock down at any point. The incident on Thursday involved two female students who were shouting and fighting. The students were removed from the school and will be charged with disorderly conduct for the disruption at the school. Four students removed from Sandy Run Middle School Friday morning by Upper Dublin Police.

Parents received the following e-mail this morning from the Upper Dublin School District Superintendent, Michael Pladus, after a second incident at Sandy Run Middle School occurred. An incident on Thursday during 8th grade lunch occurred between two female students. The incident on Friday morning occurred between four students. As you may be aware, this morning for the second consecutive day, the Upper Dublin Police were called as the result of continued disruptive and threatening behavior involving four students from Saint Mary’s. Two Students Escorted from Middle School by Police

Two 8th grade students were removed from the Middle School today after an altercation during the lunch period.

Parents recieved the following notice regarding an incident at Sandy Run Middle School during the 8th grade lunch period: Two female students engaged in threatening and disorderly behavior in the cafeteria.  When asked to leave the cafeteria, the students refused to comply and the Upper Dublin Police Department was called. All other students were moved to the outside recess area and the far end of the cafeteria, and at no time was anyone in danger.  The offending students were escorted from the cafeteria by Police and St. Mary's staff to be taken back to the St. Mary's facility. Appropriate discipline as well as resulting charges by the Police Department are pending. Police Called in Early Morning Fight at Sandy Run Middle School

Charges have been filed against two students who had just started taking classes, administrators say.

Staff at Sandy Run Middle School had to break up a fight between two students in the building's main office this morning, according to an e-mail sent out to parents. The fight began at roughly 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning and school administration, staff and a security guard worked quickly to resolve to situation "within minutes," the e-mail said. No students were in harms way at any time, the message said. Upper Dublin Police were then notfied and charges have been filed, SRMS principal Denise Falconi told Patch. In addition, the students are currently suspended and are facing possible expulsion. Falconi said the students are in the eighth-grade and that they are from another school, and only started classes at Sandy Run this week.

Science Students Concoct Success at Regional Fair

27 students qualify for the state competition.

It may be postseason time for athletes across the state, but they aren't the only ones out to bring home trophies. And after the recent success of Upper Dublin High School and Sandy Run Middle School science students, the teams from Fort Washington are looking something like a regional powerhouse. All 45 UDHS students who participated in this past weekend's Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) Regional Fair, held at Cheltenham High School, placed in the top three of their respective categories. The students competed against roughly 20 area schools for a chance to qualify for the state competition by placing first. 21 of the 45 achieved this goal and will represent Upper Dublin and the region at the state fair, held at Pennsylvania…

Whiz Kid: Noah Carver Selected For ExxonMobil Science Camp

Upper Dublin resident Noah Carver was one of the 50 students to attend The Exxon Mobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp.

“I have always wanted to be an inventor when I grow up. My basement is filled with all the inventions and prototypes I have made,” Noah Carver wrote in his application essay to the Exxon Mobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp. “I hope to invent something amazing that will change the world for the better," he continued. "I think that this summer camp will help me, because I can talk with college professors and I can work with other kids like me and together we can find answers to some of our questions." Noah is 13 years old and a rising eighth-grader at Sandy Run Middle School.
