The Fort Washington man accused in a string of bank robberies in Montgomery County this month waived all charges against him to Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Wednesday at Collegeville District Court. Alleged serial bank robber Kyle Anthony Wilson, 21, remains incarcerated at Montgomery County prison. According to Michael Goldberg of The Reporter, Wilson’s bail was reduced by $1,000 at his hearing to $499,000. The reduction affords Wilson the chance to work at the prison and engage in extra recreational privileges, according to the article. After being apprehended in 2010 in Abington, a Philadelphia man will face a prison sentence.
He claims he was only the lookout and getaway driver, but a Montgomery County judge decided he deserved a serious punishment for his actions. William Perkins, 64, of Philadelphia, has served much of his life in prison, and according to court dockets has a rap sheet several pages long. He was sentenced Wednesday to 10 to 20 years behind bars for his role in a string of burglaries that occurred in 2010. As Patch reported at the time, Perkins, who also used the aliases of John Potter and William Potter, was taken into custody on Oct. 12, 2010 along with John Daniel Wilson, 48, of Philadelphia. For Democrat Will Sylianteng, the man contesting incumbent State Rep. Todd Stephens for his seat representing the 151st legislative district, sums up Tuesday as a "good day one way or the other." "We’re at polling places introducing ourselves to people as they come in," Sylianteng told Patch of he and his 30 or so volunteers in place at some of the district's three dozen polling places throughout Horsham, Upper Dublin, Ambler, Montgomery Township and Abington.
