Montco Locations to Offer Free Heart Screenings

February is American Heart Month. Start lowering your heart-disease risk by eating right, exercising, and monitoring your blood pressure and cholesterol.

This time of year, while you're thinking about Valentines and heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, take a minute to think about your heart. In honor of American Heart Month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urges men and women to take steps this February to become aware of the dangers of heart disease and to develop a plan for heart health. One in four American deaths this year will be related to heart disease, making it the leading cause of death in both men and women. Even more alarming: Heart disease is preventable and controllable. 'Code Blue' Declared for Friday and Saturday

Code Blue' will go into effect at 9 p.m. Friday and end at noon on Saturday.

Norristown, PA (February 6, 2013) - The Montgomery County Commissioners, on the advice of the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, have decided to issue a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency for Montgomery County based on a review of forecasts from the National Weather Service. The Code Blue Declaration has been issued for Montgomery County for the period beginning at 9:00pm on Friday, February 8, 2013 through 12:00pm on Saturday, February 9, 2013. A Code Blue Cold Weather declaration is made in Montgomery County when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter.  A Code Blue is called when the combination of air temperature …
