'Code Blue' Declared for Friday and Saturday

Code Blue' will go into effect at 9 p.m. Friday and end at noon on Saturday.

Information provided by the Montgomery County Health Department. Norristown, PA (February 6, 2013) - The Montgomery County Commissioners, on the advice of the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, have decided to issue a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency for Montgomery County based on a review of forecasts from the National Weather Service. The Code Blue Declaration has been issued for Montgomery County for the period beginning at 9:00pm on Friday, February 8, 2013 through 12:00pm on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Up to Five Inches of Snow On Its Way

Impacts on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday morning commutes likely

A winter storm featuring wind gusts up to fifty miles per hour is expected to begin depositing up to five inches of snow on the area beginning Wednesday afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory and a wind advisory for all of Montgomery County. Light rain and snow that arrives Wednesday morning is expected to intensify in the form of snow during the afternoon hours as temperatures remain in the mid-to-upper 30s.
