Whitpain Police are seeking public help in identifying a man and a woman matching the description of those involved in numerous thefts from area Kohl's Department Stores.
The Whitpain Township Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying a man and a woman matching the description of those involved in numerous thefts from Kohl's Department Stores throughout the area. According to a press release, a white male wearing a tan Carhart jacket and jeans entered Kohl's on Skippack Pike at 6:14 p.m. on Friday, April 12. The man walked to the housewares department, where he allegedly grabbed two Kitchen-Aid 600 mixers before exiting the store through a rear fire door. The mixers had a combined value of $1,099.98, the report states. Maple Glen woman, Ambler teen, taken to hospital after Whitpain accident.
The drivers of two vehicles were taken to the hospital after an accident on Friday in Whitpain Township. Patricia Donovan, of Maple Glen, hit the driver's side door of a 17-year-old driver from Ambler at Butler Pike and Meade Road according to a report in the Ambler Gazette. Injuries to the drivers were unknown. Read more about this accident here.

According to Whitpain Township Police, on Thursday, Nov. 15 at approximately 2 p.m., a resident of the 500 block of Penllyn Blue Bell Pike, Blue Bell, reported to police that she heard the driveway sensor alarm sound. According to the police reports, when the resident went to investigate, she discovered a black male attempting to steal an air compressor from her garage. The male is described as approximately 5'6" to 5'8", with a tall, thin build and a thin mustache, as well as a distinctive gap between his teeth. The male was wearing a gold chain with a gold disc pendant, an unzipped dark sweatshirt with white lettering shaped in a arch, blue jeans and white sneakers. According to Whitpain Township Police reports, on Oct. 19 at approximately 2:02 a.m., Whitpain Township police observed a green Dodge Durango parked on the shoulder of the road with its hazard lights on. The driver, Roshanda Garland, 35, of the 400 block of Ft. Washington Ave in Ft. Washington, who, according to the report, was visibly intoxicated. The officer also found that Garland had an an outstanding warrant for unpaid traffic tickets. Garland was taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital to have blood drawn and was later released to a family member. DUI charges are pending while awaiting blood results.

According to Whitpain Township Police Reports, on Oct. 14, at approximately 10:42 p.m., an officer stopped a gold Oldsmobile on DeKalb Pike near Michael's Lane. According to the report, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana and saw smoke coming from the car's windows. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Nicholas Curotto, 20, of the 1000 block of Twining Rd. in Dresher, and the passenger was identified as Liam Stewart, 21, of the 400 block of Ambler Rd. in Fort Washington. According to the report, during the stop, the officer found marijuana and paraphernalia in the vehicle. According to Whitpain Township Police Department, On August 28 at 2:10 a.m., Whipain police responded to Betsy Ln. for a report of six or seven subjects breaking into a residence. According to Whitpain Township Police reports, when police arrived they found one 18-year-old male victim bleeding heavily from a cut to his head. He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Suburban Hospital for treatment where he received stitches to the injury. Witnesses reported to police that four subjects allegedly showed up at a party at the residence and were told to leave as they were not invited. They left after words were exchanged, but witnesses said that they returned 10 to 15 minutes later with more people. Allegedly, the unwanted subjects kicked open…

According to Whitpain Township Police Department, on June 25, at 10:42 p.m., an officer observed a white truck weaving on the roadway heading eastbound on Morris Rd. The officer stopped the truck in the area of School Rd. and the driver, identified as James Harris, 76, of the 300 block of Ruscombe Ave. in North Hills, allegedly appeared intoxicated. According to the police incident report, Harris was taken to the Mercy Suburban Hospital for blood tests, but refused the test. Harris was taken back to the station where police released him to his wife. Charges, including DUI and traffic offenses, will proceed by summons.

From Whitpain Township Police Department: On May 15, 2012 the and unknown male made fraudulent credit card transactions at the CVS store 929 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell and the Wawa, 1015 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell totaling over $900. The victim lives in New Jersey and it is unclear how her information got out. From Whitpain Township Police: According to Whitpain Police, on Tuesday, June 12 at 1:47 a.m., a purple Plymouth was stopped for an alleged equipment violation in the 1000 block of DeKalb Pike in Whitpain Township. Police said during the stop, the driver, who was identified as Richard Barba, 18, of the 400 block of Militia Hill Rd., of Fort Washington, allegedly was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
