Upper Dublin Police say someone turned in an important personal item early today.
Someone lost something while likely picking up his or her coffee early this morning. According to Upper Dublin Police, someone found a wallet at about 5:30 a.m. at the Wawa at 106 Bethlehem Pike in Fort Washington. The black wallet contains miscellaneous business cards, a U.S. Government-issued Social Security card as well as $20 in cash. If this is your wallet, contact Upper Dublin Police for assistance.

Dresher man struck an SUV at Cumberland Farms on Tuesday night with his Chrysler 300, according to police.

Robert James Girvin, 54, of Dresher Woods Drive, Dresher, was arrested late Tuesday night after he struck an Oreland resident’s Ford Explorer in the parking lot of Cumberland Farms and fled, police said. According to police, the complainant followed Girvin, who was driving a black Chrysler 300, to the 300 block of Dresher Woods Drive. Police made contact with Girvin at 10:42 p.m. There was a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the vehicle and Girvin seemed confused and could not understand what was going on, police said. The stereo in the car was playing loudly and when police asked Girvin to turn the volume down, it took him five tries to do so. Glenside man allegedly struck a parked car in the Volvo dealership on Bethlehem Pike after striking a vehicle driven by a Plymouth Meeting resident.
A Glenside man faces multiple charges stemming from a Jan. 25 incident in Fort Washington in which he allegedly struck a Volvo in a dealership lot while fleeing from a Pennsylvania Avenue crash, and then tried to escape on foot, according to Upper Dublin Police. Robert Grasty, 42, will be charged with driving while operating privileges are suspended, abandoning a vehicle on private property, careless driving, trespass by motor vehicle, accident involving both attended and unattended vehicles, and duty to give information and render aid. Upper Dublin Police arrested Keun Oh, 46, of the 1400 block of Patrick Court, Ambler, early Tuesday morning just before 2 a.m. after Oh was seen traveling northbound on Fort Washington Avenue in the southbound lane near Schirra Drive, police said. According to police, Oh, who was driving a blue GMC van, smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. Oh failed a field sobriety test and a portable breath test indicated that Oh’s blood alcohol content was 0.183 percent, police said. Two breath tests given at Upper Dublin Police headquarters indicated that Oh’s blood alcohol content was 0.164 percent. Oh was also cited for careless driving.

Upper Dublin Police arrested a Wyncote man for DUI after a crash in the 1300 block of Fitzwatertown Road. According to police, Donald Craig Hinkson Jr., 22, of Gribbel Road, was arrested after he struck a mailbox and a speed limit sign at about 1 a.m. on Monday. Following an investigation, police determined that Hinkson struck a curb at the intersection of Fitzwatertown Road and North Hills Avenue, and then traveled on the front lawn of the first two houses on the Upper Dublin side of the road, hitting the mailbox and the sign. So far, three people have been arrested by a taskforce that includes the Upper Dublin and Abington Police Departments, as well as the Pennsylvania State Police.
Abington Police announced the arrest of another suspect who they say is involved in a rash of daytime, residential burglaries throughout Montgomery and Delaware counties dating back to December 2011 and continuing through November 2012. According to police, the “ring leader” of the burglaries, Derrick Carter, of the 4600 block of Sheffield Street, Philadelphia, was arrested in November after he was seen committing burglaries in Delaware County and New Castle County, Del. He also tried to strike a Philadelphia Police officer with his vehicle while on a high-speed pursuit. See that story here. Upper Dublin Police arrested James Carmine Merrill, 39, of Mohahan Avenue, Staten Island, N.Y., on Jan. 9 at 1:39 a.m. after he was seen passed out behind the steering wheel of a blue Ford Escape in the Best Western Hotel lot on Commerce Avenue, police said. According to police, an officer knocked on the windows of the small SUV several times to wake Merrill up; when he woke up, he was lethargic and confused. Merrill was unable to work the windows of his vehicle, so the police officer opened the passenger side door to speak with him, police said. According to Upper Dublin Police reports, on Nov. 22, at approximately 12:35 p.m., an Upper Dublin Police Officer responded to a reported vehicle accident, with a vehicle reported into a guard rail, on Dreshertown Rd. near St. George's. While the officer was enroute, according to the report, police radio stated that the driver was intoxicated and that he was potentially trying to leave the scene. The original caller also stated that the driver of the vehicle was coming towards her and that she was afraid and leaving the scene, according to reports.
