Hurricane Damage - On Tuesday, Oct. 30, an officer observed a tree lying on a roof at the 1229 Hoffman Rd., Ambler. The officer made contact with the resident, who reported that between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29 the tree growing in the front yard split and fell into his roof. He stated that the tree did pierce the room and entered his fourth bedroom. No injuries were reported to members of the household and the incident is a result of hurricane Sandy. Accident - On Monday, Oct. 29, at approximately 7:07 a.m. Upper Dublin Police officers were dispatched to the area of Limekiln Pike and Peg Street for the report of a one vehicle accident. Threats - On Oct. 12, a student from Wordsworth Academy came to school with a piece of a golf club and threatened to swing it at another group of students. Theft - On Oct. 12, UDPD took reports of a cell phone theft at Upper Dublin High school. Theft - One Oct. 15, at 3:57 p.m., theft of registration stickers from vehicles was reported at St. Mary's. Vandalism - On Oct. 14, at approximately 2:07 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Ardross Ave. in the Ambler section of Upper Dublin Township for the report of vandalism to property. After a hit and run accident in Maple Glen, the rear entrance door to Danielle's Espresso Cafe was unable to close securely and a special medical/driver examination was recommended for the operator of the striking vehicle. An Upper Dublin Police officer was dispatched to Danielle's Espresso Cafe, 1967 Norristown Rd. in Maple Glen, on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:23 a.m., for a report of a hit and run accident that damaged a rear entrance door, that had just occurred. According to Upper Dublin Police reports, the officer met with Danielle Van Dam, the business owner, who reported that a delivery driver had parked his truck at the rear of her business to make a delivery. Hit and Run - On Friday, Oct. 5 at 11:48 p.m., a victim of the 1700 block of Brittany Drive in Maple Glen reported that sometime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., someone struck her Acrua MDX which was parked out front of her house. Her vehicle was parked along the curb, facing north bound on Brittany Dr. and was hit in the front passenger corner of the front bumper. There is minor damage and black transfer marks. Burglary - On Friday, Sept. 28, at 2:42 p.m., Upper Dublin Police officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Hoffman Rd. in Ambler for a report of a burglary just discovered. The residence was then cleared. The officer noticed the damage to the resident's door. Also, the victim saw the doors open upstairs and a light on inside the bedroom closet. The victim discovered that a jewelry box was missing plus cash and other incidentals. This is an ongoing investigation. Hit and Run - On Thursday, Sept. 27, at approximately 5:50 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a hit and run in progress in the area of Fitwatertown Rd. and Anzac Ave. The caller stated that he was struck by a red Honda being operated by a black male wearing dark colored clothing. He was hit hard enough to damage the vehicle beyond drivability and a to also cause a slight injury to the reporting driver. Witnesses described the vehicle the same. Burglary - On Sept. 17, at approximately 5:53 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Highland Ave. Upon arrival, officers cleared the residence and observed that several rooms, including the downstairs bedroom, had been ransacked. Entry to the residence had been made through the rear door. The rear door had been locked with a dead bolt and appeared to have been shouldered or booted, shattering the door jamb. Several items of real and costume jewelry had been taken. Burglary - On Sept. 11 at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Fort Washington Ave. for a burglary just discovered. The residents notices that although the storm door was closed and locked, the door to the kitchen had ten forced open. They verified that there was a burglary and called UDPD. The point of entry appears to have been the kitchen door with significant damage to the main door jamb, splintering it and breaking it with the strike plate found on the kitchen floor. Public Drunkenness - On Saturday, August 18, at approximately 2:18 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of Cavendish and Hampstead Dr. for a disturbance. Dispatch relayed that a white male is his 50s wearing a bathing suit and towel was attempting to fight residents at the pool. Upon arrival at the original incident, witnesses told officers that Dave Fullerton had been at the pool trying to fight. Accident - An accident that occurred on N Limekiln Pike on Aug. 11, occurred when the driver of a Honda Accord, driving southbound on N Limekiln Pike began to slow down to turn into the Dreshertown Shopping Center. The driver told Police that after what she thought was the last car to pass her, she began to turn and never saw the Toyota RAV4 until it was too late. The driver of the Toyota said she was driving 30-35 mph and there were no cars ahead of her when a car coming in the opposite direction began to turn in front of her. She glanced off the side door of the Honda and came to a stop. A witness told police that the Honda continued into and over a concrete barrier and into a sign post.
