Eastern Culinary Student Volunteers at Upper Dublin Ed Foundation Day

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology Culinary student and Upper Dublin High School student Donovan Calhourn helped prepare fruit kabobs for the UDEF Day.

The Upper Dublin Education Foundation (UDEF) Day took place on May 15 at George’s Dreshertown Shop ‘N Bag, located at 1650 Limekiln Pike located in Dresher. The event featured  Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (Eastern) Culinary Arts and Upper Dublin High School junior, Donovan Calhoun, who volunteered with Hatboro-Horsham juniors, Caitlin Goodspeed and Lauren Bissig and Eastern Student Success Aide Cori Sansalne, during the UDEF Day to prepare dishes such as fruit Kabobs. According to an Eastern press release, Shop ‘n Bag donates a large portion of the day’s receipts to the Upper Dublin Education Foundation, a non-profit community organization whose exclusive educational and charitable purpose is to support programs for the benefit…

New Hardware … and Business Skills for Upper Dublin Students

Ambler Savings Bank donates $10,000 to the Upper Dublin Education Foundation.

The Upper Dublin High School recently purchased a milling machine and a 3D printer — both of which are commercial-grade items — for the school’s new Business Entrepreneurship Program. The school purchased the items with the help of a $10,000 donation from Ambler Savings Bank. According to Upper Dublin Education Foundation Board Member Pam Ryan, the bank had been looking to donate money to the education foundation as part of the state’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, which rewards businesses that donate to approved educational improvement organizations, like the Upper Dublin Education Foundation. “They approached us last spring and were contemplating getting involved with the program,” Ryan said. “They were saying, ‘Hey…

Mentor an Upper Dublin Student

Offer your guidance as a volunteer with Upper Dublin Education Foundation.

It is a simple plan. Bring together the talents of local residents, and support area students. But, how can you help? The Upper Dublin Education Foundation seeks mentors to volunteer their services. Those from all backgrounds are welcome. According to the UDEF website, the goals of the program are fairly basic: Empowering students to use their potential Exposing students to options and opportunities Helping students focus on the future Assisting students in exploring realistic goals Helping students develop self-esteem Encouraging enriching experiences There are not particluar restrictions for those applying to mentor. Monte Carlo Night to Benefit Students, Charities

Take a trip to Monaco … via Germany, to benefit charities in Upper Dublin.

Channel your inner James Bond this Saturday at the Fort Washington Mercedes-Benz dealership. (Yes, Bond usually drives an Aston Martin, but this is close.) The Upper Dublin Education Foundation and the township are sponsoring a Monte Carlo night Saturday, March 2 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Fort Washington Mercedes-Benz dealership on Pennsylvania Avenue. The proceeds will benefit local charities including the Upper Dublin Library Board; the Kelly Ann Dolan Fund; the North Hills Scholarship Fund; youth sports and Upper Dublin Schools.  Dana Jamison, executive assistant to Fort Washington Mercedes-Benz’s owner, said the business has been active in helping the community for years. Education Foundation ‘Shouldn’t be a Secret,’ Superintendent Says

The Upper Dublin Education Foundation will be busy in the upcoming days.

Upper Dublin School District Superintendent Michael Pladus said in a recent email to parents that many residents have been asking about the possibility of the district forming a nonprofit organization as a way of raising funds. Upper Dublin Awards Medals To Outstanding Individuals

The Upper Dublin Medal Program recognizes the extraordinary efforts and contributions of residents and students within the community.

Upper Dublin Township recently held its 28th-Annual Medal Reception and Ceremony at the Manufacturers' Golf and Country Club in Fort Washington, which recognizes the extraordinary efforts and contributions of residents and students within the community. This year's group of medal recipients includes Kevin Li and Jennifer Cullen, who were selected as this year's Outstanding Students, Brenda Ricci, who was selected as Outstanding Educator, Robert Pesavento, who was selected as Outstanding Citizen, and Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, which was selected as the Outstanding Non-Profit Community Organization. EASTERN Students Participate in UD Foundation Day

EASTERN Culinary Arts students from Upper Dublin participated in the Upper Dublin Foundation Day at George's Dreshertown Shop 'N Bag.

From Eastern Center for Arts and Technology: On Wednesday, May 9, Eastern Center for Arts and Technology Culinary Arts/Upper Dublin  High School students Tyana Thompson, Tymere Davis, Katie Hepp, Victoria Black,  and Brandon Wiese volunteered their time at the Upper Dublin Education Foundation Day at George’s Dreshertown Shop ‘N Bag by serving beautifully prepared fruit kabobs and bagging groceries.
