Kelly Cross leads the Flying Cardinals to a first-round playoff victory over Downington West.
Still riding their momentum from going undefeated in league-play, the Upper Dublin girls lacrosse team defeated Downington West, 20-11, in the first round of district playoffs on Tuesday afternoon. Kelly Cross lead the way with six goals and four assists, and Michele DeVincent added another four goals and an assist. Emily Hitchings and Taylor D'Ginto had three goals a piece, and Julie Cross, Brooke Callahan and Anna Trentini rounded out the scoring for the Flying Cards. Freshman netminder Sarah Gallagher had seven saves for the Upper Dublin squad, who will face a rematch with Conestoga on Thursday. THe Flying Cards lost their regular-season matchup with Conestoga, 14-9.

The Lady Cards nearly found themselves on the wrong side of a no-hitter, until Sarah Rosenbaum hit a home run in the bottom of the 7th.
The Upper Dublin softball team fell to rival Wissahickon on Thursday, 3-1, as the Lady Cards faced a near-perfect performance from Trojans starting pitcher, Katie Ziegler, on Thursday afternoon. Ziegler was credited with the win, allowing only one run on one hit, which came courtesy of Upper Dublin's Sarah Rosenbaum homerun in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Lady Cards received another solid outing from pitcher Kristin Ganderton, who surrendered two earned-runs on five hits while striking out 10, but that wasn't enough to outduel her Trojan counterpart. The Upper Dublin squad is now 8-8 on the season, with a record of 4-6 in Suburban One League play.

Kelly Cross and Brooke Callahan combined for eight goals and five assists, and Taylor D'Ginto, Michele DeVincent, and Julie Cross scored two goals each. Emily Hitchings, Anna Trentini and Shelby Kenny rounded out the scoring with a goal a piece. The win wraps up an undefeated league-season for the Flying Cardinal, who are 12-0 in Suburban One League play and 15-2 overall.

Ganderton leads the way as the Lady Cards peek above .500
The Upper Dublin softball team earned their eighth win of the season on Monday afternoon, beating Germantown Academy 9-4 and bringing their record above .500 for the first time in weeks. Pitcher Kristin Ganderton lead the way for the Lady Cards, striking out five for the win while allowing only two earned runs and chipping in two RBI. Rachel Stingel helped power the offense by going 3-4 with four runs acored, and Rachel Matricardi also chipped in going 1-3 with three RBI. The Upper Dublin squad is now 8-7 on the season, though they remain a sub-.500 team in league play with a 4-5 record.

The loss is the second non-league play loss for the Upper Dublin squad, who remains undefeated in the American Conference of the Suburban One League with a record of 11-0.

The Upper Dublin girls lacrosse team defeated Upper Merion, 15-2, on Tuesday afternoon, extending their win streak and solidifying themselves atop the American Conference of the Suburban One League. Kelly Cross had a monstrous game, scoring four goals with an additional five assists. Brooke Callahan chipped in with three goals and an assist, and Taylor D'Ginto, Michele DeVincent and Julie Cross scored two goals apiece. The Flying Cards are now 9-0 in league play, and 12-1 overall.

Fielding issues resurface as the Lady Cards drop their second straight.
The Upper Dublin softball team dropped their second straight game on Monday afternoon, losing to Upper Merion 4-3 as errors once again plagued the team. Pitcher Kristin Ganderton was one of a few brights spots for the Lady Cards, striking out six while walking one and allowing two earned-runs. She also went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI, and Rachel Matricardi chipped going 1-3 with two runs scored. The difference in this game was fielding, as Upper Merion committed only one error, while the Upper Dublin squad committed five. The loss puts the Flying Cards at 3-5 in league play, and 6-7 overall.

The Upper Dublin girls lacrosse team kept up their winning ways on Thursday, beating Plymouth-Whitemarsh 16-4 and extending their overall record to 9-1 on the season. Brooke Callahan lead the scoring with four goals and five assists, and the tandem of Kelly Cross and Julie Cross combined for another eight goals and three assists. Anna Trentini, Taylor D'Ginto and Lily Morreale also scored for the Flying Cards. The Upper Dublin squad is still undefeated in league play at 7-0, with a record of 9-1 overall.
Ashleigh Sharp knocks in the lone run for the Lady Cardinals
The Upper Dublin softball team could not hold off the offensive power of the Cheltenham Lady Panthers on Thursday, losing 10-1 and dropping their record in league-play to 3-4. Ashleigh Sharp knocked in the lone run for the Upper Dublin squad, and pitcher Kristin Ganderton was tagged with the loss, allowing five earned runs and striking out six. Cheltenham scored two runs in the first and fifth innings, with an additional run in the sixth, however the game was put out of reach when the Lady Panthers exploded for a five-run inning in the seventh. The Lady Cardinals are now 5-6 overall.
