Christmas Day Murder Accomplice Sentenced
The lookout man in a 2011 Christmas murder in the Cheltenham section of Elkins Park is sentenced.
Ezra S. “Scooter” Childs, 23, of Philadelphia, was sentenced earlier this week for his role in the murder of Robens Borno early on Christmas morning of 2011. According to a CBS Philly article, Montgomery County judge Joseph Smythe sentenced Childs to five-to-10 years in state prison and five years’ probation; he pleaded guilty last year to third-degree murder and carrying a firearm without a license. The triggerman, Rayshon Carwheel, 25, shot Borno several times in the torso at a house in the 1400 block of Beech Avenue at about 1:55 a.m. as he was wrapping Christmas gifts, according to a Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office press release.
