UDPD Reports: DUI Accident, and Vehicle Break-ins at LA Fitness

Weekly Upper Dublin Police reports.

All information is according to official police reports filed at the Upper Dublin Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. DUI Accident: At approximately 6:52 p.m. on December 11, Upper Dublin police were dispatched to the intersection of Welsh and Norristown Roads for the report of a vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers observed three vehicles, two of which were heavily damaged. A GMC Acadia, driven by Daewoo Kim, 54, of the 1800 block of Maple Glen, PA, had sustained heavy front end damage; a black Buick Park Ave, driven by a 67-year-old male, sustained heavy rear end damage; and a red Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 60-year-old man sustained minor rear end damage. Police Reports 9/13: Assault Leads to Arrest, Items Taken from Abandoned Car During Rains

All information is according to official police reports filed at the Upper Dublin Police Department. Assault and arrest: On Sept. 8 at approximately 4:22 p.m., a female victim entered the Upper Dublin police station to report that she had been physically assaulted. An ambulance was dispatched to the department to evaluate the woman’s injuries. The victim then told police that approximately 15 minutes earlier, Courtney Eugene Harris, 39, of the 300 block of Chelsea Avenue, North Hills, assaulted her while she was in Harris’ home. Police Reports 9/7: Hit and Run Solved, Dog on Dog Attack, and a Pair of Domestic Disputes

All information is according to official police reports filed at the Upper Dublin Police Department. Hit and run: On Aug. 29 at approximately 3:04 p.m., an Upper Dublin police officer responded to the 1500 block of South Limekiln Pike for the report of a hit and run. According to the police report, the officer spoke with the reporting party, who told him that she heard a loud bang in front of her home, but did not see a vehicle upon investigating. However, a man then came to her door and told her that a tractor trailer had struck a utility pole, and gave her the name on the trailer, “Family Dollar,” along with the vehicle’s registration tag and state. “At the scene of the collision, a PECO pole had been forcefully removed from the ground, …

Criminal mischief: On Sept. 5 at approximately 4:32 a.m., UDPD received a call from a resident on the 1400 block of Dillon Road, who stated that his mailbox had been smashed. Upon investigation, officers walked up and down the nearby streets and observed the following damages at separate residences: 1200 block of Goodman Drive: 1300 and 1400 blocks of Dillon Road: Police suspect that the incidents occurred sometime between 3 and 3:45 a.m. Suspicious “roffers”: On Sept. 2 at approximately 5:46 p.m., Upper Dublin police received a call from the 300 block of Stout Road regarding suspicious behavior. Bomb Threat: At approximately 4:33 p.m. on August 22, Upper Dublin police were dispatched to the 600 block of Officecenter Drive for the report of a bomb threat. Upon arrival, an employee told responding officers that an unknown male had phoned the call center at and stated that there was a bomb in the building. Employees were told to evacuate the building upon initial contact with police, who contacted the Montgomery County Bomb Squad in an attempt to locate any canine units for a search of the building. “After approximately 40 minutes, employees were advised to enter the building and look around their immediate area for anything …

UDPD Reports 8/22: Office Park Vandalism, Car into Ditch, and a Stolen Israeli Flag

Property damage: At approximately 8:41 a.m. on August 16, a security guard at the Metro PCS in the Fort Washington Office Park reported that sometime during the night, an unknown individual smashed the rear passenger window of the company’s white Hummer H3. Nothing inside the vehicle was taken, including valuables in the backseat. At 12:40 p.m., another individual in the parking lot reported that someone had damaged the front end of his 1995 Honda Del Sol sometime overnight. UD Police Reports 8/15: Office Park Burglary and a DUI

Burglary at the office park:  On Aug. 14 at approximately 8:20 a.m., an Upper Dublin police officer was dispatched to the 400 block   of Virginia Drive for the report of a burglary in the Fort Washington Industrial Park. The report does not say which business was entered, but that it had been broken into through the backdoor overnight, and that $3,000 to $5,000 worth of items were taken. The case was turned over to Upper Dublin detectives, who are currently investigating the crime. Police Reports 8/10: Two Busted for Pot and a Commerce Drive Crash

Drugs: On Aug. 6, at approximately 10:25 a.m., an Upper Dublin police officer was monitoring traffic along the 500 block of Twining Road in an unmarked vehicle, on the lookout for speeding drivers. At that time, a Volkswagon Jetta drove past at 45 mph, when the posted speed limit was 25 mph. Upon pulling the car over, the officer identified the driver as Kimberly Trippett, 44, of Mansfield Avenue, Philadelphia, and detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the car. Burglary - On July 25 at approximately 6:34 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of Welsh Road for a report of a prior burglary. The resident of the home told the officer that when he had returned home from work, he entered through the side door of his house and heard a noise. Upon investigating, he found a pane of his back door had been broken, allowing the burglar, who was not found in the house, to reach the knob and gain access.
