Pairings for District 1 basketball tournaments announced

The Lady Cardinals are seeded seventh and will open play against Coatesville, while the boys were selected as the 25th seed and will travel to North Penn.

Yesterday, the brackets and seeding for the boys' and girls’ District 1 AAAA basketball tournaments were announced, and the Flying Cardinals appear in both. The girls team had a fantastic 19-3 (10-2) regular season, and was thus rewarded with the seventh seed in the 32-team field. They will first take on 26th-seeded Coatesville (15-7, 7-5) Saturday, Feb. 19, and play at home, thanks to the higher seed. Should they win, the girls will host another home game against either 10th-seeded Council Rock South or 23rd-seeded Unionville. Last year, District One sent nine teams to the state tournament.
