U. Dublin Man, Former Coach, Avoids Prison for Giving Vodka to Teen Athlete

William Ryan Lichtner, 24, of Limekiln Pike, was sentenced to one-year probation and community service for admitting to giving alcohol to a 17-year-old Hatboro-Horsham Senior High girl over a six-month period

A former Hatboro-Horsham Senior High School girls’ cross country coach who provided alcohol to a 17-year-old female athlete avoided jail time after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct and furnishing alcohol to a minor. According to Carl Hessler Jr. of Montgomery News, William Ryan Lichtner, 24, of the 1200 block of Limekiln Pike, Upper Dublin, was sentenced to one year probation and was ordered to complete 48 hours of community service, according to the article. Lichtner entered a plea agreement, which was accepted by Judge Gary S. Silow, according to the report. On May 24, 2012, high school officials contacted Horsham Police to report that a teenage student confided in her guidance counselor about Lichtner’s inappropriate behavior, …
