Scranton Native Kathleen Kane will serve as Pennsylvania's first elected female Attorney General, after former Cumberland County District Attorney David Freed. Kane received just over 3 million votes to Freed's 2.2 - she won by just under 15 points. "Tonight is a historic night," Kane said, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "We have expanded the boundaries for women in Pennsylvania. Kane, who beat out Southeast Pennsylvania Democrat Patrick Murphy for the Democratic Party nomincation, gained a lot of name recognition in the Primary Election.
