Upper Dublin first in assaults, second to last in property crimes among local municipalities

Upper Dublin Patch dug through the FBI's Uniform Crime Statistics data to compare Upper Dublin against four local municipalities

Upper Dublin Patch wanted to get an idea of how Upper Dublin township compares to other local municipalities when it comes to crime. We explored the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports for data from 2009, which is the most recent year available, and created statistics for the Upper Dublin, Hatboro, Horsham, Plymouth, and Whitemarsh townships. Here is what we found. Upper Dublin is the leading township for aggravated assaults per capita. The township had 39, which means that one assault occurred for every 664 residents. The next highest township was Plymouth, with only 14 total assaults. This means that Upper Dublin is high above the average when it comes to assaults, and assaults per capita.
