BMW Recalls 3-Series, 1-Series, Z4 and X5s

BMW is recalling its 3-series, 1-Series and Z4 roadster for electrical issues, and the X5 SUVS for brake flaws.

BMW has recalled more than 30,000 of its X5 SUVs in the US, model years 2007 to 2010, according to a report in CBS Philly. The SUVs have been recalled to "fix an oil leak that can knock out the power-assisted braking." According to an article in Reuters, only the vehicles with V8 engines are affected by this recall. This news was released just days before BMW announced a recalled of approximately 750,000 more of its vehicles, 570,000 of them in North America. According to a report in TFLCar.com, this second recall "has been issued due to a faulty battery cable connector that could cause the engine to stall." West German BMW to Repair Recalled Vehicles

1.3 million cars worldwide may need battery-cable repairs.

BMW announced this week it is recalling 1.3 million cars from model years 2003 and 2010 because of an battery-installation problem in some that could prevent ignition. Staff at West German BMW in Fort Washington aren't sure how many cars from the dealership are affected, if any, a service center employee told Patch. Details about the individual models affected have not yet trickled down to the dealership level. However, BMW said on Monday that it is recalling all BMW 5 and 6 Series models of the previous generation built between 2003 and 2010. According to the press release, “In some remote cases, the battery cable cover inside the boot of these vehicles may be incorrectly mounted." The problem could result in the electrical system …
