Montgomery County District Court has released the footage of Raghunandan Yandamuri alleged confession to the murders of 10-month-old Saanvi Venna and her 61-year-old grandmother Satyavathi Venna in October. According to NBC10, Yandamuri claimed both murders were accidental. In the video, he claims that he slit the grandmother's throat accidentally and stuffed a handkerchief in Saanvi's mouth and Wrapped a towel around her head to stop her from crying. Authorities have said the murders were part of a botched ransom scheme in which Yandamuri planned to demand $50,000 from Saanvi's parents for her safe return. The 10-month-old had been missing since Monday. A family friend has been charged in the murders of the child and her grandmother, who reportedly attacked the would-be kidnapper as he tried to take her granddaughter.
The body of Saanvi Venna, the 10-month-old girl who disappeared from the Marquis Apartments in King of Prussia on Monday following the murder of her grandmother, was found at about 4:30 a.m. Friday in a sauna room inside the apartment complex, Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman said. Raghunandan Yandamuri, 26, described by Ferman as a friend of the Venna family, has been charged in the murders of Saanvi and Satyavathi Venna. Chenchu Latha Punuru, the mother of still missing 10 month old Saanvi Venna, who was abducted on Monday from her home at the Marquis Apartment complex in King of Prussia, is a software analyst in Upper Dublin, according to a report in PhillyBurbs. The child was believed abducted following the murder of her grandmother sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday. Upper Merion Police and Montgomery County Detectives are searching for the missing girl, with a $50,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of Venna. The reward for information leading to the safe return of Saanvi Venna has been increased to $50,000, authorities announced Thursday. The 10-month-old is believed to have been abducted from her King of Prussia home following the murder of her grandmother, who was caring for her between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Monday. According to a Times Herald article, a $30,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the safe return of 10-month-old Saanvi Venna, who was abducted from the Marquis Apartments in Upper Merion Monday. The Citizen’s Crime Commission of Delaware Valley, Upper Merion Township Police, The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Teluga Association of North America are offering the reward. According to a previous Patch report, Saanvi’s 61-year old grandmother, Satyavathi Venna, was also found murdered in the home when Upper Merion Township Police arrived on Monday. Multiple news outlets are confirming that Upper Merion and Pennsylvania State Police are still searching for 10-month-old Saavni Venna after she was abducted from the Marquis Apartments in the 200 block of W. Dekalb Pike in King of Prussia sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 22. He might have killed the grandmother so she wont identify him. I think he may also be heavily influenced by the Tollywood movies he watched regularly.
