Police Identify Victims of Fatal Route 309 Accident

Mother and son were killed on Monday when their car broke down in the center lane on Route 309.

According to a report by 6ABC, police have identified the two people who were killed on Route 309 on Monday as a mother and son. “The Montgomery County Coroner identified the victims as 21-year-old Richard Guerrier and 54-year old Esther Louis,” said the report. The crash occurred when a Lincoln Town Car broke down in the center lane of northbound 309. The Coronor told ABC that Guerrier got out of the vehicle to look under the hood and Louis was still in the car. While the car was still sitting in the center lane, it was hit by a red Lexus SUV, killing both Guerrier and Louis. The driver of the SUV, also a 54-year-old woman, was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic on 309 in the northbound lanes …

Report: Victims were pushing a disabled vehicle off the roadway when they were struck from behind by a SUV

Pennsylvania State Police said two people were killed shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in a crash on the northbound lanes of Route 309 between East Valley Green Road and Camp Hill Road at the eastern edge of Whitemarsh Township. Pennsylvania State Police closed 309 northbound just before the Paper Mill Road interchange from shortly after the crash until about 6:30 p.m. Monday. "All northbound traffic is being diverted on Church Road then northbound on Bethlehem Pike," Whitemarsh Police Chief Michael Beaty told Patch at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
