Upper Dublin Area Hot Spots to Cool Off

It's hot outside, and the heat index is expected to reach 104 degrees today. Here's a few ideas to get out of the house and stay cool today in the Upper Dublin area.

The Upper Dublin Community Pool in North Hills has daily rates for individuals and is open from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Children registered for Upper Dublin Library's Summer Reading Club can join the fun at events scheduled throughout the week, including:

• 12 Annual Talent Show, Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m.
• Explore Art!, Thursday, July 18 and 25 at 7 p.m.
• Pirates/Treasure Hunts Storytime, Monday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m.
• Teen Space, Monday, July 22 at 3:30 p.m.
• Book to Movie Nights, Tuesday, July 23 at 6 p.m.

Check out Thunderbird Bowling Center in Willow Grove or GlowGolf in King of Prussia for some fun and indoor physical activity.

Get creative at Color Me Mine in Montgomeryville, where you and your children can paint your own ceramics, like plates, mugs, characters and more. Check out the July specials, which include an Early Bird special every Monday in July and Friday, July 19 is PJ Night.

The Franklin Institute has a special exhibit called "Spy: The Secret World of Espionage" which, according to the website, features artifacts including a collapsible motorcycle, a robotic catfish, and get the spy experience first hand.

The Franklin Institute is open Thursday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. and Sunday through Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
