Intuition & The Act Of Self-Sabotage

Follow your instincts...

We've all had that feeling when you just know you're going down the wrong road but you don't know how to turn around? Our instincts naturally kick in but sometimes they leave us at a loss as to how to best proceed. In my case, I'm sometimes left with a case of self-sabotage. Let me explain:

There are times when I'm highly doubtful of situations, when I know they're just wrong for me, for my greater good. But, as I've stated above, I may not always know how to best elaborate on why. So I get defensive: to the person or situation in question. And rather than rationalizing or reasoning, I sabotage. It's my fight or flight kicking in. It's not pretty, I know, but when you're in it, well...

The body & mind have an incredible way of protecting us from what they deem fit of needing protection. Our subconscious is always on and it never lets us down, regardless of what we think we can live with. When we set forth standards of what we believe we deserve in this life, our subconscious works overtime to never let us forget. So when we engage with others who go against our ideals...it's a battle that is waged mentally and may the best defense win. It's not truly sabotage if it's in the honor of self-protection.

I'll say it again because it's worth repeating, at least to myself: if it's meant to be, it'll be. It won't be so incredibly hard. It'll take time and effort but it won't be so hard. And it will be worth it. No settling will be involved.
