St. Alphonsus CYO 7th/8th Grade Girls Hoops State Champs
The girls won the first title in school history in their final year playing under the St. Alphonsus banner.
On Sunday, March 25, 2012 the 8th/7th grade girls from St. Alphonsus Parish concluded their exceptional season (38-2) with a state title win in overtime against Our Lady of Peace Parish from Erie, PA.
The state tournament consisted of the champions of the other seven Catholic Dioceses in Pennsylvania: Allentown, Altoona-Johnstown, Erie, Greensburg, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh and Scranton.
This is the first CYO state title for the St. Alphonsus girls' basketball program.
