Dresher Runner Takes First in 800m for a 'Nova Win

Villanova's Samuel Ellison, of Dresher, nets a win at the Penn State National.

Samuel Ellison came out with a Wildcat victory this weekend.

According to the Villanova website, the junior, of Dresher, was one of three solo winners at the Penn State National, a two-day event this past weekend at the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track. The meet was held at University Park, Pa. on the Penn State University's campus.

Ellison took first place in the 800m, with a time of 1:48.62. He was first of 14 racers.

"That is a season best time for Ellison, who had previously scored wins at the season-opening Jack Pyrah Invitational as well as at the NYC Gotham Cup meet," said the Villanova website.

This was his third win in three races for the 2013 season. Ellison's win added to an overall positive outcome for the Wildcats over the weekend.

"The Wildcats scored wins in three invitational events and saw five different runners register personal best times in their respective races," said the article.
