Dresher native and Philadelphia Union midfielder, Zach Pfeffer, was loaned to TSG Hoffenheim, according to Comcast Sportsnet.
Pfeffer, 17, has played for the Union since 2010 and will be on a one year loan to the "German Bundesliga club, which will last from January to December 2013.
Pfeffer is currently "on a two-week training stint" with the German soccer club, marking the "third consecutive offseason Pfeffer has trained with Hoffenheim."
"Although Pfeffer isn’t expected to make an on-field impact for the renown club, the experience alone is more influential than the one he would receive playing as a man amongst boys on the Union’s developmental team, Harrisburg City Islanders or Reading United of the United Soccer Leagues."
During his two seasons with the Union, "Pfeffer has played in just four regular season league matches and a handful of international friendlies," according to the press release on the Philadelphia Union's website.
Pfeffer will complete his final year at Upper Dublin High School in a hybrid format and hopes to return in June to walk during graduation with his classmates.
