Upper Dublin Cardinals defeated Upper Merion 189 to 294 at Gulph Mills Country Club, with the golf team shooting an unofficial school record.
Upper Dublin’s Andrew Carber shot a 31 in the match, an unofficial school record for the varsity golf team.
Gulph Mills Country Club is one of the more challenging courses in the American Conference if not the entire Suburban One League. Carber proved equal to the task and much more. He was one over par after 3 holes. Then the birdie barrage began. He birdied holes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and he barely missed another on the treacherous 9th green.
“As an Upper Dublin golf coach, and an overall golf and sports addict, it was one of the finest moments in sports that I have ever witnessed,” said David Koch, Upper Dublin Varsity Golf Coach.
