New EASTERN Culinary Award Given to UDHS Student

Upper Dublin High School senior and Culinary Arts student at EASTERN has received the Shawn and Roger Graham Hospitality Award.

From Eastern Center for Arts and Technology:

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) recognizes student achievement at their Awards Night each May through its Educational Foundation. This year, a new award was added to the growing list thanks to 2010 Culinary Arts and Cheltenham High School graduate, Taylor Landon, and her parents, Shawn and Roger Graham. The Shawn and Roger Graham Hospitality Award was a $250 award for a hard working EASTERN senior moving from the Culinary Arts program to a community college program and who has minimal class absences.

The recipient of the award was senior, Tymere Davis, who plans to attend in the fall.

The Graham family sponsored the award because they feel as thought EASTERN has been a big part of Landon's accomplishments in college and life. Landon received multiple scholarships when she graduated from EASTERN - all of which helped her pay her way through community college. The Graham family wanted to help another student that was following a similar path.

Landon recently completed her Associate Degree in Hospitality Management at MCCC. In the fall, she will begin pursing her Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management at Temple University. After completing her education, Landon hopes to with in hospitality on the international level.

"This was my graduation present from my parents," said Landon. "I was very surprised when they told me about it. I have always said that when I am successful I will give a scholarship to EASTERN for Culinary Arts students. My parents just beat me to the punch."
