Montgomery County Community College will host a free program on problem gambling, May 10 from 2 to 4 p.m., in the Advanced Technology Center, Room 101. The program will also be show, via videoconferencing, at MCCC's West Campus, South Hall, Room 213.

Gambling may be fun and exciting, but it can also be addicting, and can lead to serious financial problems. To help the community and students learn about problem gambling, MCCC's Student Support and Referral Team, and the Montgomery County Department of Drug and Alcohol, in collaboration with the Council on Compulsive Gambling of PA will present the program, "Problem Gambling and the College Population." Guest speaker Joanna Franklin is the director of training and network development for Trimeridian Inc., Resources for Problem Gambling. She will discuss the dangers of problem gambling, and help the audience recognize the signs and symptoms of a compulsive gambler, and how to get appropriate help.
