EASTERN Offers Apprenticeship Programs for Adults

Information provided by Eastern Center for Arts and Technology:

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology’s (EASTERN) four-year apprentice programs are approved by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. Our programs provide the required 576 hours of theoretical instruction necessary to achieve journeyman status in the Electrical trade, and Plumbing or Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) trades.  In addition to theory classes, 8,000 hours of on-the-job training must be provided by an employer with a registered apprenticeship program.  Apprentices register in September and attend classes two evenings a week for 12 weeks during each of the fall and spring semesters.

EASTERN’s apprentice instructors are experts in their fields.  They bring firsthand experience and technical knowledge to the classroom.  Industry partners insure that the programs remain responsive to apprentice and employer needs. Many apprentices receive tuition assistance from their employers.
