Dresher Native Wins STEM Video Game Challenge

Lexi Schneider, a middle school student from Dresher, won the National STEM Challenge for Middle School in the Written category.

The Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop and E-Line Media announced the names of 16 middle school and high school students as the winners of the 2013 National STEM Video Game Challenge. Among those students was Lexi Schneider, a middle school student from Dresher.

The competition aims to motivate interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) among students by tapping into their enthusiasm for playing and making video games. The top video games and game designs were selected in 14 categories from the nearly 4000 entries.

Schneider's game title was Head of the Class and won in the Written category.

Winners receive an AMD-powered laptop computer with a game design and educational software and the individual or team's sponsor receives $2,000 in a cash prize.
