President Bill Clinton to Visit Upper Moreland High School

Former President Clinton will attend a ‘Get Out the Vote’ Rally at the high school in support of State Attorney General Candidate Kathleen Kane.

In support of veteran prosecutor and Democratic State Attorney General candidate Kathleen Kane, President Bill Clinton will attend a major “Get Out the Vote” Rally, this Thursday, April 12, from 6 – 8 p.m. at .

According to a recent press release on the visit, the rally follows President Clinton’s recent endorsement of Kathleen Kane as Pennsylvania’s first elected female Attorney General.

“Kathleen Kane is the most experienced and qualified candidate to serve as Pennsylvania Attorney General,” President Clinton said in the release. “I am confident that Kathleen will use the legal system to protect and advance the lives of all Pennsylvanians. She is smart, tough and experienced, and she will make a great Attorney General.”

Kane, a veteran deputy district attorney for Lackawanna County in Northeast Pennsylvania, is greatly appreciative of President Clinton’s strong show of support for her candidacy, states the release.

“Words cannot express my gratitude to President Clinton for his unwavering support,” Kane added. “President Clinton remains an enormously popular and influential world leader. Our campaign is incredibly energized by the president’s support. We intended to ride this wave of momentum to victory on Tuesday, April 24, and in the November general election. We also look forward to having President Clinton at our side throughout this historic journey.

Upper Moreland School District also sent out an announcement, via its Virtual Backpack online information network.

The announcement states that the Committee to Elect Kathleen Kane is paying for all costs associated with the rental of district facilities. It also states that the public is encouraged to attend the event.

“Please consider coming out and bringing your children to see democracy in action,” said the release.

So funny Danny...my daughter (a junior) who was to young to remember the debacle of Monica Lewinsky told me she thought he was a "great" president. Seriously though, even if he had been, the High school is a facility for the children, NOT a political soap box. A lot of planning had gone into this evening by the guidance staff and to just shove it aside at the whim of a politico is a disgrace. This event was to have been a GREAT service to the KIDS OF THE SCHOOL and their parents who pay the school taxes. A lot of the kids so not have the means to visit colleges. Just disgraceful.

Listen to yourselves. The only thing disgraceful is your negativity. The man was president of the United States, and like or dislike, you need to respect the office he held. Bill Clinton is guilty of lying about a sexual encounter. George W. Bush is guilty of lying to a nation to start two wars, while trampling the Constitution. And in light of his offenses, I would hope that a college night would be canceled to allow him, as a president of the United States, to speak. Get over yourselves, stop your whining, and have some respect for the office of the president of the United States.

I know I should stop, but really Mr. Roturra, "corrupting our nation"? Honestly? A party that wants everyone to have health-care, that wants to raise taxes on the very wealthy, and lower them for the poor and middle class; a party that believes every child should have the chance to go to college. Have you listed to the things the GOP candidates have been saying? Santorum wants to throw up when the separation of church and state is mention; Romney isn't worried about the poor; and Newt wants to build frikkin colonies on the moon. Corrupt the nation? What rock are you living under?
