Woman Suffers Severe Injuries from DUI Motorcycle Crash, Police Say

A Willow Grove woman suffered severe injuries after a motorcycle accident in which she had a high blood alcohol content according to police.

An Upper Dublin Police officer responded to the 400 block of Virginia Drive on Wednesday, July 3 at approximately 11:30 p.m. for a motorcycle accident with injuries, according to police reports.

On scene, officers found a black female lying on her back and several motorcycles parked at the entrance to 500 Virginia Drive in Fort Washington, where the accident occurred.

The victim, identified as Crystal Harris of Willow Grove, had severe trauma to her left leg, but was conscious, alert and speaking with officers, but unable to move due to the severity of her injuries, according to the report.

While being treated by Ambler Ambulance Company, officers were alerted that the victim had an odor of alcohol on her breath. Harris was questioned and admitted to drinking alcohol prior to operating her motorcycle, according to police.

Harris submitted to a PBT, which indicated her BAC was .123 percent. She was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital into the ER trauma center, where she also submitted to a chemical test of her blood.
