UDPD Reports: Vehicle Crashes Through 7-11 Fence

Hurricane Damage - On Tuesday, Oct. 30, an officer observed a tree lying on a roof at the 1229 Hoffman Rd., Ambler. The officer made contact with the resident, who reported that between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29 the tree growing in the front yard split and fell into his roof. He stated that the tree did pierce the room and entered his fourth bedroom. No injuries were reported to members of the household and the incident is a result of hurricane Sandy.

Accident - On Monday, Oct. 29, at approximately 7:07 a.m. Upper Dublin Police officers were dispatched to the area of Limekiln Pike and Peg Street for the report of a one vehicle accident. The officers located the caller in the parking lot of Natural Cleaners, 1404 Peg Street. The caller reported that a vehicle had driven into the fence on the northern side of the 7-11 property which he owns. He showed the officers a video on his cell phone of a white Toyota Camry over a parking curb and resting against a fence.

The driver and owner of the vehicle, Arnoldo Cruz Morales, was located in front of the 7-11 store. Morales spoke little English but was able to report a vehicle struck his and pushed him into the fence. When the officer spoke with him, his vehicle was parked normally in a parking space.

The fence and Morales' vehicle were both in a state of disrepair and it was not readily apparent what damage was new to either item. Morales was unable to produce his passport at the time of this incident and was advised not to drive.

Criminal Mischief - On Oct. 24, an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Summit Ave. to investigate reported criminal mischief to a vehicle. The officer was advised and the investigation determined that on Oct. 24 at 9::32 p.m., the victim was placing trash at the curb when he observed three actors walking in front of his house. The complaint, having a young child who was sleeping asked the actors if they could lower their voices and they started to walk towards his house. The complainant then heard a scraping noise and turned to see three of the actors standing by his rented car. The actors ran northbound on Summit.

Hit and Run - On Friday, Oct. 26, at approximately 8:55 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Girard Ave, in reference to a hit and run just found. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who stated the following: Sometime between Thursday, Oct. 25 at approximately 8:30 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 26 at 8:55 a.m., her parent's vehicle was hit on the drivers side while it was parked on the street on the 100 block of Girard. She has been driving her parent's vehicle. She did not hear anything overnight. The driver side of the vehicle was damaged from front to back.

Theft - On Oct. 27 at 1:07 p.m., an officer spoke with a victim who insists her vehicle, a 2002 white Volvo station wagon, had a full tank of gas when she parked it in front of her driveway at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 26. Upon returning to her vehicle at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 27, she discovered the gas tank was half empty. She said no one else had access to her vehicle overnight and the vehicle was parked where she remembered the previous night. She suspects 5 to 10 gallons where removed from her car overnight. There did not appear to be a fuel leak under the vehicle.

Theft - Officers responded to a theft in progress call from the construction site on Girard Ave. and took the Twining Rd. side of Lulu Golf Course in an attempt to locate the fleeing actor. Across from 510 Twining, inside the fence of Lulu Country Club, the officers did observe a shoeless male running along the fence line. The officer ordered the subject to stop and he complied. He was then ordered to climb over the fence which he reluctantly did and upon climbing over the fence, the officer assisted him with getting down to the ground. The subject was then placed under arrest. The actor did sustain cuts from his fence climbing but refused medical attention at the scene. The actor was brought tot he scene where he was positively identified. The male identified himself at Patrick Lherisson of Logan Ave., North Hills. He was search and sockets were found on his person in his blue jacket. 

Hit and Run - On Tuesday, Oct. 30 at approximately 10:42 a.m., and officer was dispatched to the Upper Dublin Police Department for a hit and run report. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim/reporting party who stating: he was driving a silver 2005 Audi north on Bethlehem Pike in the area of Highland Ave. when he stopped for a traffic signal which was not functioning. After stopping, he proceeded through the intersection at which time an older model grey vehicle, possibly a Toyota, turned left in front of him. He then struck the other vehicle in the rear passenger side area. The other vehicle then drove away from the scene. He further stated that he had a witness who would be able to provided further information.

Upon looking at the complainant's vehicle, damage was noted to the front passenger side causing moderate damage (still drivable).

Theft - On Oct. 31, at 9:24 a.m., an officer responded to the 600 block of Andross Ave. for the report of theft. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the reporting party who said her mailbox had been removed sometime overnight. He recalled seeing it on Oct. 30 at 2:20 p.m. next to her mailbox post (mailbox was off the post from prior event). On Oct. 31 at 8 a.m., she noticed that the mailbox was missing and checked around the neighborhood with no success.

The victim described the mailbox as a large white mailbox with a "T" on it and a line of red spray paint on it.

Found Property - On Oct. 21, at 3:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Lake Drive for found property. Upon arrival, the officer met with the reporting party who said he was raking his property that ran along Cedar Road and found two sets of keys and an endorsed business check for $1,255. It is unknown how long these items were there.

Vehicle Struck - On Tuesday, Oct. 23, at approximately 2:11 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Lulu Country Club in reference to a vehicle that was struck by a golf ball. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant, who stated: She was operating her work vehicle traveling north on Twining Rd. approaching S Limekiln Pike when a golf ball hit the passenger side exterior rear-view mirror, which broke the mirror. She was not injured. She did not see the golfer.

Theft from Vehicle - On Sunday, Oct. 21, at 10:42 a.m., a victim reported that sometime the night before at 8 p.m. and this morning at 7 a.m., someone had entered her Toyota Camry, which was parked in the driveway of her residence. She believes that the vehicle was locked. She later discovered that her Garmin GPS and her husbands Android cell phone were missing. The GPS was mounted on the center of the dashboard and the cell phone was laying on the center console.

DWI - On Thursday, Nov. 1, at approximately 2:08 a.m., an officer if full uniform operating a marked Upper Dublin Police vehicle in the area of N Limekiln Pike and Norristown Rd. came up behind a Chevrolet Malibu. While following this vehicle the officer observed it drifting heavily as we proceeded southbound on Limekiln Pike. The officer observed the vehicle cross over the double yellow dividers into the opposing lane and then drifting back across the white fog line multiple times. The officer initiated a traffic stop for the observed violations at Limekiln Pike and Fort Washington Ave. The driver, identified as Daniel Adam Cymerman, of the 1500 block of Arran Way, Dresher, smelled of a heavy odor of alcoholic beverages. The officer asked Cymerman if he would be willing to take a PBT which he complied. The result was positive for the presence of alcohol on Cymerman's breath (.171% BAC). At 2:18 a.m., Cymerman was placed under arrest for DWI and transported to Holy Redeemer Hospital where he signed a form consenting a test of his blood. Charges pending lab results.
