UDPD Reports: Tennis Ave. Home Burglarized

Police incident reports from Upper Dublin Police Department.

Hit and Run - On Friday, Oct. 5 at 11:48 p.m., a victim of the 1700 block of Brittany Drive in Maple Glen reported that sometime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., someone struck her Acrua MDX which was parked out front of her house. Her vehicle was parked along the curb, facing north bound on Brittany Dr. and was hit in the front passenger corner of the front bumper. There is minor damage and black transfer marks.

Theft - On Friday, Oct. 5 at approximately 12:34 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the station for a report of a walk in complaint regarding theft. Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim, who stated that they had gone to look for the sterling silver flatware set in the attic and found it was missing. The flatware pattern is Romance of the Seas and the handles all had an initial inscribed on them. When asked if she knew who would have taken the flatware, she stated anyone could have taken it, and that there have been a number of workers throughout the house over the years. The victim said the last time she saw the set was maybe 10 years ago. The victim estimated the value of the flatware set for 12 settings to be around $4,000 or $5,000.

Theft from Vehicle - On Friday, Oct. 5, at approximately 9:51 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Chelsea Ave. in North Hills for a report of a vehicle which was entered and had items taken from it. Upon the officer's arrival, he spoke with the victim who said, she found the center console and glovebox open and some belongings left out on the seats. She said she put everything back where it belongs. An undetermined amount of items were taken from the car such as change and misc. clothing.

Burglary - On Oct. 5 at approximately 6:16 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Tennis Ave. for a completed burglary. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim, so said that she left her residence at 9 a.m. on Oct. 5 and returned at approximately 4 p.m. The victim noticed that a jewelry box was taken from the master bedroom and that several of the closet doors had been completely opened. A pillow case was also taken from the bed. Victim said that the doors were left unlocked.

Accident - On Oct. 9, at approximately 7:59 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Commerce Drive for the report of a vehicle accident in the curve. Upon arrival, the officer observed a GMC Envoy in the parking lot with heavy front end damage. The operator stated the following: He was traveling north through the curve when another vehicle encroached on his lane. He then swerved and drove over the curb, at which time his vehicle began to spin and struck the utility pole. He was able to get his vehicle back in the parking lot. The officer observed a fair amount of debris from the vehicle in the area of the utility pole.
