Springfield Man Arrested for Corruption of an Upper Dublin Minor

Springfield resident, Scott Edward Nemtzow, 60, was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of attempted corruption of a minor. Nemtzow is a former Big Brothers volunteer and the charges are in connection with November 2010 and January 2011 incidents that occurred in Upper Dublin, according to a report in the Ambler Gazette.

Nemtzow was sentenced to three years probation.

Other charges against Nemtzow were withdrawn before the trial.

According the the Ambler Gazette, "The investigation began in November 2010 when the 16-year-old boy and his parents went to Upper Dublin police to report that Nemtzow contacted the boy several times via the social networking site Facebook and “friended” him. Nemtzow gave the boy his phone number and asked the boy several times to contact him, according to the arrest affidavit."

When Nemtzow arrived in Upper Dublin to meet with, what he thought was the boy, he found the undercover detective with whom he had actually been exchanging e-mail messages.
