Hearing for Ex-State Trooper Searfoss Delayed
Former trooper Barry Searfoss was charged with homicide by vehicle in 2012.
A former Pennsylvania State Trooper who, police say, was driving under the influence when he crashed into a Lincoln Town Car on the turnpike had his pre-trial hearing continued after a defense expert asked for more time to review the case.
Barry Searfoss was off duty and allegedly intoxicated on the night of May 18, 2012 when he rear-ended 21-year-old Robyn Williams' car. Williams' car burst into flames and she was killed.
According to a report on phillyburbs.com, a defense expert witness requested more time to study the evidence that authorities gathered the night of the crash.
As reported on Patch, Searfoss was charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, homicide by vehicle, two counts of driving under the influence, and multiple counts of careless driving and reckless driving. Searfoss had a blood alcohol concentration of .188 percent, according to court documents.
