DUI, Texting and Driving Causes Twining Road Accident, Police Say

An Elkins Park man admitted to texting while driving, allegedly was driving under the influence during a vehicle accident on Twining Road.

Upper Dublin Police officers responded to a vehicle accident on Twining Road on July 7 at 6:14 p.m.

On scene, officers spoke with Joseph Seitzinger, of Elkins Park, who said he was driving on Twining Road when he received a text message and looked down at his phone, which caused him to hit the back of another car at a red light.

Seitzinger told police he was coming from WalMart and heading to a friends house, but didn't know where it was. He said he was supposed to be meeting his friend on Twining Road, according to the report.

The officer speaking with Seitzinger noticed his eyes were red and puffy and his speech was slow. He was transported to Holy Redeemer Hospital for a blood test.

Charges are pending the results of the blood test.
