East Oreland Schoolhouse/EPI Center - Votes for Demolition

At the 9/10 the UD BOC meeting they voted 5-2 to demolish the 104 year old East Oreland schoolhouse (aka The EPI Center) located at Wischman and Twining Roads.  The BOC would not consider working through a deal with the Heritage Conservancy - a well respected organization that has an impressive inventory of saved properties and a well deserved reputation.  After months of collecting information, garnering local support from the surrounding community - it was over in a quick vote to tear it down.  The BOC should be ashamed of their lack of vision and lack of respect for the township citizens.  There are only 2 two room schoolhouses left in Montgomery county - soon to be 1.  How can we stop this destruction of our history and the center of East Oreland's community?  Let the Commissioners know how you feel - send them all an e-mail today!  AllCommissionersGroup@upperdublin.net  or send one to your specific Commissioners - check the website for the individual information http://www.upperdublin.net/boards/boc.aspx
