Joseph M. Dalesandro, Sr., 89, of Plymouth Meeting

Joseph M. Dalesandro served our country in WWII with the US Marine Corps with rank of Corporal.

Joseph M. Dalesandro, Sr., 89, of Plymouth Meeting, died peacefully on August 11, 2012 at Regina Nursing Center with his family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Fanny B. "Faye" (Castagna) Dalesandro for 65 years.

He was born in Conshohocken, PA on March 19, 1923 to the late Luigi and Giuseppina (Bevilaqua) D'Alessandro.

Joe was a graduate of Conshohocken High School class of 1941.

He served our country in WWII with the US Marine Corps with rank of Corporal. He served in the South Pacific with Co. D, 20th Marines, 4th Marine Division in Iwo Jima, Saipan and Tinian.

Joe was employed as a Welder for John Wood Steel Co. of Conshohocken until its closure. He then worked at Westover Golf Course for over 18 years.

He was a member of SS. Cosmas and Damian Church, was an avid golfer, and loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Faye, he is survived by two children Joseph M. Dalesandro, Jr. and wife Amy of East Fallowfield, Susan M. Vandenburg and husband Mark of Royersford,

two grandchildren Mark W. and Gina M. Vandenburg, a brother Anthony Dalesandro of Plymouth Meeting,

two sisters Mary Parrish of Poconos, Virginia Boyer of Conshohocken, and many nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by siblings Lucy DeLalla, Peter Delesandro, Nick, James, and Michael Dalesandro. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Regina Nursing Center, 550 E. Fornance St., Norristown, PA 19401.

The Viewing will be from 8:30-10:00 AM at Regina. 

Entombment in St. Patrick Mausoleum, Norristown.
