Arden C. ‘Art’ Stover of Fort Washington [Obit]

Former Upper Dublin High School golf coach dies.

Arden C. “Art” Stover, of Fort Washington, died Sunday, Feb. 10 at Abington Memorial Hospital. He was 84. 

Born in Franconia, he was the son of the late Edwin Stover and the late Eva (Alderfer) Stover.

He is the husband of R. Elizabeth “Betty” Stover; father of Bruce L., Barry A., and Bret E. Stover and his wife Allyson; grandfather of Jenna Anselmo and her husband John, Kim Stover, Meg Stover and her fiancé Garry Herbert, Ryan Stover, Cory Stover, and Drew Stover; brother of Betty Grasse and her husband John, Arlene Mininger and her husband Charles, the late Mary Landes and her husband Ralph, Janet Eash and her husband Art, Harold Stover and his wife Donna, and Linda Nyce and her husband Vern.

Stover was active in sports, especially baseball and football. He was a former golf coach for Upper Dublin H.S., a retiree of Genuardi’s after 35 years, treasurer of his church, and board member of Old York Rd CC. He loved his summers in Avalon, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewings on Thursday, Feb. 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. and  Friday, Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at Warrington Fellowship Church, 2233 Bristol Road, Warrington.

Interment will be private.
