Upper Dublin Library Receives Grant From Family Place

Family Place Libraries dedicated to children literacy and the health of communities.

has been awarded a Library Services and Technology Act Family Place grant, in the amount of $5,000.

Family Place Libraries is a network of children's librarians that begin building literacy at birth.

According to the Family Place Libraries website, a Family Place library expands on the “traditional role of children's services, Family Place builds on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parental involvement and supportive communities play a critical role in young children's growth and development.”

Libraries with a large selection of books, multimedia, toys, music and more, for babies, toddlers and parents, are core components of Family Place Libraries.

Other than Upper Dublin Library, nearby, Horsham Township Library, Upper Moreland Public Library, and Norristown Public Library have all been named Family Place libraries.
