Tourette Syndrome Information Seminar - Hosted by State Reps. Murt, Dean, Stephens, Daley
Rep.
Thomas Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) will host an informational seminar for families
dealing with Tourette Syndrome and community members who are interested in
learning more about the disorder. Murt will
be joined by Reps. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery), Madeleine Dean (D-Montgomery)
and Mary Jo Daley (D-Montgomery), as well as representatives from the PA
Tourette Syndrome Alliance Inc.
The
event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m., in the Upper Dublin
Township Building, 801 Loch Alsh Ave. in Fort Washington.
Tourette
Syndrome is a neurological disorder that is characterized by tics – involuntary,
rapid, sudden movements or vocalizations that occur repeatedly in the same way.

“This
can make it difficult for those dealing with the illness to live a normal life,”
Murt said. “Many families believe they
are alone and feel isolated, but there is help.”
The
meeting is free and open to the public.
