Fireworks Scheduled for Upper Dublin Community Day

Fireworks, food, rides, games and more will be featured on September 29 during Upper Dublin Community Day.

From Upper Dublin Township:

Planning is well underway for Upper Dublin Community Day 2012, which will be held on Saturday, September 29.  It will be a great day for celebrating community and having a good time.  There will be entertainment, games, food and fun for the whole family.

Test yourself on the Rock Wall, enjoy the Moon Bounce, watch the Give and Take Jugglers or the Stilt Walker, get your face painted, participate in games and crafts, and win prizes.  You will be able to get a bodyfat assessment or health screenings; see fire trucks and hot cars; and learn about many church, community, and educational organizations.  Over 70 booths and activities have already been scheduled.  The Midway and other entertainment open at 3 pm.

Entertainment will include a main stage with participants from UDHS and our community along with strolling performers out in the Midway and along Loch Alsh Avenue. Sit and relax and listen to the music. Enjoy a gala concert produced by the UDHS Allied and Performing Arts Departments at 6:30 pm in the new high school auditorium, then move outside for fireworks at dusk.

The Performing Arts Wing of the new high school will be dedicated at 4 p.m., and guided and self-guided tours of the entire high school will begin after ceremony.

This year the Midway will feature a wide selection of food booths from across the community. There will still be hot dogs and hamburgers for the less adventuresome. Where else can you feed a family of 4 for under $15?

The day will also feature a return of “Antiques on the Air,” which will take place once again in the Upper Dublin Township Community Room (starting at 2 p.m.) where an appraiser will be available.  Appraisals will be shown on UDTV – Channels 21/22.  Pre-registration is required. Contact Sandi Danaher at 215 646-4365 for your pre-assigned time slot. The slots fill up quickly so please call early!

Mark your calendars for September 29 for what promises to be a great day to celebrate living in Upper Dublin!
