An Upper Dublin police officer in the department's communications room told Patch that the roads are almost all clear in Upper Dublin, at least as far as closures go.

THere are only a few minor blockages around the township, particularly along Virginia Drive and in the office park.

However, police still advise residents never to drive through standing or moving water, as flooding can be deceptively deep.

Police also said that it was a relatively quiet and successful night, with no dire emergency situations or rescues.

**12:10 a.m.** Upon contacting the Upper Dublin police department at 12:00 a.m., the responding officer told Patch that the township was experiencing flooding on a widespread scale

"Pretty much the whole damn town is under water," the officer said.

Emergency responders had to perform a "water rescue" on Dreshertown Road at approximately 11:30 p.m., but UDPD says the person had been returned safely to their home.

Travel should be restricted to absolute emergency.

Patch spoke with Upper Dublin Township Manager Paul Leonard at approximately 7:00 p.m., and he told us that things were running smoothly so far.

He also emphasized that the township was well prepared, and had spent the past 48 hours gearing up and making sure that all was in place ahead of the storm.

"We're very good at preparing... this is what we do," said Leonard.

Leonard also said that the greatest concern to the township is potential power outages, as they were given the word, ahead of the storm, to expect possible longterm outages.

The worst rains are expected between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Officials have urged residents to limit travel to absolute necessities, and to never try to drive through standing water.
