Recall Alert: Kenmore Fan Heaters Can Catch Fire, CPSC Says

The heaters were sold at Sears and Kmart.

Kenmore fan heaters sold at Sears and Kmart are being recalled because of a fire hazard risk.

Broken motor mounts can cause the units to overheat, catch fire and ignite nearby items, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers, the Consumer Products Safety Commission said.

Sears and Kmart have received seven reports of such fires, the CPSC said, including two that caused injuries.
