McNeil Plant Could Open by End of Year

Johnson and John's McNeil Consumer Healthcare plant in Fort Washington could reopen as soon as the end of this year, according to a report in Philly.com.

The plant closed in 2010 after "J&J recalled tens of million of consumer products, including its popular Tylenol and Motrin products," according to FiercePharma Manufacturing.

The repairs to the plant, according to MENAFN.com, are going to total $100 million.

The company's consumer products revenue is third behind its pharmaceuticals and medical devices divisions. Philly.com reports that the consumer products only accounted for $14.4 billion of the company's $67.2 billion in revenue in 2012, and the McNeil Consumer Healthcare plant closure cost the company close to $1 billion in lost sales each year it was closed.
