Valentine's Day is coming up Monday, and I'm sure there's a lot of people out there still hustling to make plans or buy gifts for their significant other. We've compiled a list of restaurant and flower options to save you some time.
Romantic restaurants: Looking for a place to take your significant other or just a special friend on Valentines Day? There may or may not be some deals to be had on Monday, but many restaurants will offer a "prix fixe" style menu or will have Valentine's Day specials.
Zake's Cafe: This small, romantic restaurant in Fort Washington has a $40 per person "prix fixe" style menu (click "Valentine's Day menu" on their website), which contains three courses with many choices of special items not normally on the menu. Zake's is still taking reservations as of Feb. 10 for "any time but 7." It's open for lunch, as well.
: Newly and beautifully renovated, the restaurant offers "bring your own wine" Sundays and Mondays. Jarrettown Hotel is open from 4 to 10 p.m. on Mondays, and there is a nice happy hour nestled in from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the bar if you want a place to go before dinner. It's still taking reservations, but times are going fast, so act quickly. Reservations are available online or by phone.
From The Boot: Newly built in Ambler in 2009, this charming Italian restaurant is the perfect place for a quiet Valentine's Day dinner. It's still taking reservations, with some times still available between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m, but for the most part, the best availability is either before 5: 30 p.m. or after 8:30 p.m.
Flowers: Still need to get a nice flower arrangement or a Valentine's Day gift? Look no further, we've found three local shops with delivery in and around the Philadelphia area or across the country. Their arrangement prices are generally similar, but feel free to shop around.
Ambler Flower Shop: This flower shop will deliver all over the Philadelphia area and suburbs.
Kremp Florist: Located in Willow Grove, Kremp offers fresh flower delivery across the country.
: Located on Limekiln Pike in Dresher, this shop will deliver to Upper Dublin and nationwide if you call in advance.
