Jarrettown Cub Scouts to be Honored

The pack recently donated to the Fort Washington Fire Co.

Tonight, the Fort Washington Fire Co. will host Cub Scout Pack 405 from Jarrettown Elementary School.

Each year the scouts sell popcorn as a fundraiser, and make a donation to a community organization. This year, the pack donated $500 to the fire company.

Monday is the fire company’s weekly drill night, so the company will provide the pack with a tour of the new firehouse at 1245 Fort Washington Ave.

Great work, boys and leaders. It's unfortunate our township and society doesn't have more young men setting aside the game console to put others before self. Scouting is an excellent opportunity that every family should explore (boy scouts and girl scouts alike): strong life lessons; a balanced approach to physical exercise, learning, spirituality, and hobby; and a moment to stop and consider the great world around us.
