The same luge track that took the life of a Georgian Olympiad in the 2010 Vancouver games played home to the world luge championship earlier this month. While a German took top billing, some local Americans represented their country by taking 21st place in the world.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Andrew Sherk, of Fort Washington, Pa., missed the top 18 cut. Racing along with Jake Hyrns, of Muskegon, Mich., the duo officially placed 21st based on their first heat time.
Sherk participates in luge events throughout the world.
