Dresher Resident Join Walk to Raise Brain Tumor Awareness

Junior at Upper Dublin High School, Jared Schmuckler, walked in the National Brain Tumor Society's Race for Hope.

Jared Schmuckler, a 16 year old Dresher resident, spent Sunday, Nov. 4 in Philadelphia as a participant in the National Brain Tumor Society's Race for Hope.

As a 12 year old, Schmuckler found out he had a tumor in his brain, according to a report in the Ambler Gazette, and the tumor needed to be removed.

"In January 2009, Jared learned the seven-hour surgery to remove the tumor was a success, he would not need any kind of radiation or chemotherapy, and after an eight-day stay in the hospital, he was able to go home."
