Toad's Escape Opens Family Stages/Ambler Theater Series

The Ambler Theater and Family Stages are teaming up for a second season of sparkling, hilarious plays. Audiences will fly with Peter Pan to Neverland, ride with Mr. Toad in his mighty motorcar, and climb the beanstalk with Jack. Starting in October with Toad’s Escape, six delightful productions will be featured in this family-fun series.

Peter Pan follows in November. The season continues in December with Snow White, followed by Aladdin in January. Peter Pan returns in February. The great Irish folk hero arrives in March with The Legend of Finn McCool. The final production is Jack and the Beanstalk in April. All of the shows are staged in the dynamic, creative two actor format developed by Family Stages co-founders Elise and Steve Seyfried. Costumes fly fast and furiously as a multi-talented duo brings all the characters to life in these laugh-a-minute, one hour productions.

The season opener, Toad’s Escape, is adapted from Kenneth Grahame’s classic children’s novel, The Wind in The Willows. Thaddeus J. Toad has the attention span of, well, a toad. The ultimate dilettante, he discards one hobby after another until he discovers a powerful, noisy new invention - the motorcar! Toad proves to be the worst driver in the world, carving a path of chaos and humor across the English countryside. Finally, with the help of his good friend The Mole, he realizes the error of his ways and resolves to be a wise and humble toad.... until the next adventure!
