The Wizards of the Saxophone Meet the Warriors of the Wonderful Sound Part 3 of 4
Alto saxophonist Bobby Zankel returns to Montgomery County Community College for the third of a four-part performance, “The Wizards of the Saxophone Meet the Warriors of the Wonderful Sound: Creating a 21st Century Jazz Vocabulary,” on Saturday, April 28, at 8 p.m. in the Science Center Theater.
This performance is made possible by support from the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage through the Philadelphia Music Project.
This show features the commissioned work Muhal Richard Abrams, an American composer, arranger, clarinetist, cellist, and jazz pianist in the free jazz medium. Abrams is known for his compression of both contemporary and traditional ideas into lean, elegant pieces.
